The blade made from 420 HC steel is wonderfully solid while, at the same time, not too big to carry out the simpler tasks around the camp. The matte black, ceramic coating prevents reflections and rust. The tang of the blade extends to the end of the handle. Here the steel slightly sticks out enabling you to use it to break something. Think, for instance, of collecting clams stuck to a rock in the water, a task you definitely don't want to use your knife for.

The handle itself is made from FRN: glass reinforced nylon. Light-weight and very strong. For additional grip Gerber has added an extra rubber overmould around this core. An additional layer with a diamond pattern.
